These vibrant orange calcite crystals chunks have near uniform coloration with vitreous (glassy) to resinous luster.

Calcites are relatively soft mineral, with a Mohs hardness of 3. Calcites are calcium carbonate mineral while the orange calcites color comes from microscopic hematite (iron oxide) inclusions within the crystals. The orange calcite in particular is known to be fluorescent may glow when exposed to UV light.
